HEURO is the Association of UK Higher Education European Officers. It comprises a membership of over 100 institutions and is run by an elected executive committee.

The mission of HEURO is to provide a platform for all professionals, academic and administrative, who are involved in European issues in the context of UK higher and further education with a view to discussing and promoting matters of common interest and disseminating good practice.

More specifically, we aim to

  • Represent the views of its members when dealing with national and international professional and educational bodies, including the production of positioning papers on strategic issues and to act as a channel of communication between such organisations and HEURO's members
  • Provide opportunities for staff involved in European activities to share experiences. In particular, provide initial professional development opportunities for those new to European activities
  • Promote models of good practice in obtaining European funding and in managing European funded programmes by sharing experiences of those working in this area within higher education
  • Promote the benefits of Internationalisation in Higher Education

The Executive Committee
The activities of HEURO are managed by an executive committee, elected at our AGMs who work on a voluntary basis. Once elected, committee members are asked to serve a term of two years. Additionally, the membership and the executive are supported by a part-time administrator.
